From the owners:
"Our parents built this house around 25 years ago on a block of virgin land, having sold a house in Malindi on the North coast, which ended up surrounded by nightclubs and hotels. Msambweni is a remote unspoilt fishing town with few tourists right down on the south coast near the Tanzanian border. We have just modernized and renovated it extensively, adding the fresh water pool and the cottage containing the 5th bedroom - all with en-suite bathrooms - so the house now sleeps 10 very comfortably .” Swali Beach House two kilometres south of Msambweni, South Coast, Kenya - Beautiful And Discreet House Fringed With Coconut Palms A Few Metres From The Beach
The house is on Msambweni beachfront. It is a working beach where local people fish from their dhows and dugout canoes and harvest seafood from the reef on foot. There is always something of interest to gaze at as you sit on the veranda looking out. "The in-house cook is an absolute star! We were so well fed and I still think about the incredible Swali fish curry. Delicious! We bought all our food en route to the house from the airport so advise contacting the chef before arrival so you get everything you need. We bought fresh fish or crab from the local fisherman every day and also had many options for going out on boats trips if we had wanted. We had our rooms cleaned and beds made every day which just added to the total bliss of putting our feet up and relaxing and enjoying being on holiday with our family".
"Just a quick word of thanks for your kind hospitality in sharing your house with us. We enjoyed every moment of it! A special thanks for the staff. They have been ever so discreet and caring in every possible way. True marvels, every single one of them. By the way - we fully agree with your comments on not going out for food. The fish is just so deliciously fresh and well prepared that it would be hard to beat by any other than the very top seaside restaurants". Hans from Belgium |
